With the finalizing of the trade with the Dark Knights, Cleveland fans bid a heartfelt goodbye to the face of the franchise for seven season, Al Garrido. The 3 time MVP and 7 time All-Star had made it known that he intended to explore Free Agency after this season. Pronkster management, who have been accused of not planning well for the future, felt it was in the best long-term interest of the club to strike a deal which benefits both Garrido, who will now be able to realistically make a run for a WS title to add to his HOF resume, and the future of the Pronksters.
